Choosing a preschool is an important decision for your family. At Kinderland Preschool, we aim to provide a safe, caring, and inspiring environment for your child. The following information outlines our values, standards of childcare, and educational approach—helping you feel confident you are making the right choice.

 

Preschool Information

  • Opening Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

  • Staff Development: Continuous training and professional growth for all staff

  • Partnership with Parents: We believe in open communication and working closely with families

For safety, we require written notification of who is authorized to collect your child. Children will only be released to an identified and approved person.

 

Class Structure

  • Small class sizes for individual attention

  • One teacher with at least one assistant in each class (more if required)

 

Settling-In Period

We recommend short introductory sessions before your child begins full preschool days.

  • Parents are encouraged to stay until the child feels comfortable.

  • Gradually, we suggest leaving for short periods to build confidence.

  • No fees are charged for introductory sessions.

Children usually adapt quickly—discovering that preschool is a fun, friendly place to be.

 

Supporting All Children

If your child requires additional support, whether temporary or ongoing, we will do our best to provide it. Our staff works closely with parents and professionals (such as speech therapists and pediatricians) to help each child reach their full potential.

 

What to Bring

Depending on your child’s age and stage:

  • Formula or feeding supplies

  • Nappies/diapers

  • Soft indoor shoes

  • Outdoor clothing

  • A change of clothes

 

Clothing & Personal Items

  • Preschool activities can get messy! We encourage aprons but recommend sending your child in everyday clothes, not expensive or delicate ones.

  • Please label all belongings with your child’s name.

  • We discourage bringing toys from home, as they can get lost or broken.

 

Health & Illness

  • For everyone’s well-being, children with infectious illnesses must stay home.

  • If your child has allergies or non-infectious conditions, we will accommodate special needs.

  • Medication can only be administered with parental permission.

 

Promoting Positive Behaviour

We encourage positive behaviour through praise and encouragement.

  • Negative behaviour receives minimal attention, helping children focus on positive choices.

  • If additional support is needed, we will keep you fully informed and work together on solutions.

Learning & Activities

  • Activities are carefully planned to match each child’s stage of development.

  • Plans are flexible and tailored to your child’s interests and needs.

  • Photos and updates of your child’s play and learning experiences are shared weekly.

  • Daily updates are given verbally by staff.

  • Two written progress reports per year highlight your child’s growth and development.
